75% of
Americans are chronically dehydrated.
-
In 37% of
Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it
is often mistaken for hunger.
-
Even MILD
dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as
much as 3%.
-
One glass of
water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost
100% of dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.
-
Lack of water
is the number one trigger of daytime fatigue.
-
Preliminary
research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a
day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.
-
A mere 2% drop
in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory,
trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing
on a computer screen or printed page.

WHY
EPA HEADQUARTERS UNION OF SCIENTISTS OPPOSES FLUORIDATION
NTEU
Chapter 280 and its individual Executive Board members have
signed on to the following Statement of Concern about the
science of fluoridation.
Water
has been called the ”elixir of life”.
Without it, we can die in three short days.
By: Jim Elliott
And,
while we are at it, what does “safe” really mean? There
is a confusing and enormous amount of information about what
is in our drinking water and, what shouldn’t be in it.
What are all the health implications?
Thanks to effective marketing by the bottled water companies, many
people drink bottled water. But, could you tell anyone why
you drink it? Are you protecting your health? Do you
distrust tap water?
Chemical
Lake and Waterway treatment techniques:
By:
Dave Murray
I
spent many of my early years in the business using aquatic
herbicides and defending their use. I believed that if I
didn’t use them, I couldn’t survive in the business. I
have used all of the aquatic herbicides that were available
to me in those early years.
However...
How
effective are aquatic plant or aquatic weed harvesters and
why would you consider using them?
By:
Dave Murray
I
have been and still am an advocate of harvesting instead of
other aquatic plant control methods as long as you
understand why you are using a harvester.
There
are numerous designs of aquatic plant harvesters, but to be
effective the designs must include the ability to gather and
“load” the vegetation aboard the vessel, as the plants
are cut.
Sand
filtration of domestic water supplies
By:
Dave Murray
Sand filtration of a watersupply is as
old as Egyptian technology.
The concept is very simple. If you
create a layer of fine sands, the space between each grain
can still allow water to pass through, but is still small
enough to trap and retain fine particles within the water
flowing through it. The sand bed can also assist in
filtering out many types of small biological organisms.
